Why we carry her name
This company is named for Lawreca’s great-grandmother, Barbra Hazely—a woman remembered with style, warmth and plenty of personality. The brand takes its cues from the homes and women of her era: keep things useful, make people feel welcome, and don’t waste what somebody else could love.
We’re a small for-profit business, not a charity. Pickup fees keep us moving. Depending on condition and need, items may be donated, given directly to someone, resold to support operations, recycled or responsibly disposed of. We’ll always be honest about where things can go.
The reason this is personal
After our grandmother’s car went over a freeway overpass, her home held more than furniture and household things. It held a whole life—her memories, her presence and the pieces of family history she had gathered over the years.
For more than 50 years, it was a true generational home. Many generations of our family were raised, loved and welcomed there. Grandma built additions onto the house as the family and its needs grew. She continuously gave to people who were less fortunate and to those around her, made use of everything she owned and never lived as though she always needed more.
She was generous without needing abundance, resourceful without making a show of it—a true inspiration and a real-life queen.
A year later, after being told we would not have to leave, our aunt gave us three months to move. We weren’t prepared. We took what we could, but we didn’t have enough time, transportation, money, storage or helping hands to save everything.
We felt bad about what we left behind. But caring about something and having the resources to carry it are not the same thing.
Barb’s Belongings grew from that gap. We want families facing a move, a loss or an overwhelming house full of memories to have more help and more choices than we did. Some things can stay in the family. Some can begin again with another family. And fewer meaningful belongings have to disappear simply because no one had a truck, a plan or enough time.
What we take
Not sure about an item? Text us a photo. Select recycling or disposal pickups may be available for an additional fee.
Not currently accepted: hazardous waste, chemicals, medications, wet or pest-damaged items, construction debris, or unverified mattresses.
Good things, going forward
As Barb’s Belongings grows, this is where we’ll share respectful glimpses of useful things beginning their next chapter—with customer permission and without sharing private details.

Future gallery updates will include packed donations, partner drop-offs, recycling runs and customer-approved next-chapter stories.
We never post a customer, home, address or belongings without permission.
